A popular solution for our clients is to pair a Medical Expense Reimbursement Plan (MERP) with a high deductible health insurance plan. A MERP provides reimbursements for a portion of health insurance out-of-pocket expenses. Reimbursements to employees are tax-free, and contributions made by the employer are a tax-deductible business expense. MERP plans are highly customizable and allow the employer to choose an inexpensive health insurance plan to lower costs, but still offer good medical coverage. We also have experience with Level Funded and Self-Funded Health Insurance options, and we offer Worksite Benefits – both Employer-paid and Voluntary Packages.

Another example of a creative solution is our Reference-based pricing plans.  These are customized stand alone plans where the employer covers a set price for each health care service.  For example, an employer can build a plan that has a $5000 maximum benefit per year with copays for primary care office visits, specialist visits, urgent care, emergency rooms, and hospital stays.  These plans are very cost effective and are a great option for companies that can’t afford group medical insurance.  Employees also have the freedom to purchase traditional insurance if they choose.
